Since TVH’s inception, the founders have always been socially conscious. Initially in and around Gullegem and Waregem, but then internationally as TVH continues to grow.

Sustainable enterprise

At TVH a lot of effort is put into finding the perfect balance between financial-economic results, social concerns and the environment. Sustainable enterprise is derived from the term sustainable development where not only the present is taken into consideration but also the life of future generations… so that everyone living today can have a good life without the concern of the wells of the future drying up.

People

It is TVH’s aim to offer its people an honest, safe and healthy working environment. This goes from differentiation
programmes, personal development and health programmes to idea boxes.

Social responsibility
The many local community initiatives and sponsorships are complemented by global partnerships.

Environment
TVH’s concern and care for nature and the environment is expressed in numerous small-scale campaigns, such as minimizing the use of paper, to important structural interventions in the area of ‘Sustainable Enterprise’ such as the AlpEnergie project. AlpEnergie electricity is 100% certified as energy from renewable sources. This allows TVH to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse emissions.

TVH further focuses its efforts on energy saving (using low consumption machinery, detection of leakage and research into supplying its own solar/wind power), the reduced consumption of base materials (especially packaging), waste control (recycling, selective collection, …), as well as caring for the soil (underground storage tank removal and decontamination of pollution), the atmosphere (gas heating and use of electric lift trucks) and water (50% reuse).
