This week, parts specialist TVH celebrates the 80th birthday of its co-founder Paul Thermote. The company offered a treat to all employees around the world, and Paul himself was honoured with a booklet and video with amusing anecdotes from TVH employees worldwide.
To celebrate its founder in an original and fun way, the company launched a call for anecdotes among its employees. The many submissions were compiled into a booklet that was handed over by CEO Dominiek Valcke. As the icing on the cake, they were also incorporated into a compilation video.
ACT WITH JOY
'TVH is a global player, but the family values remain strongly present,' says Isabelle Van de Voorde, communications manager. 'Celebrating Paul's birthday with all employees worldwide fits very strongly with our corporate culture, and especially with the value 'Act with Joy'.
HUMAN & PASSIONATE
The anecdotes shared by colleagues often reveal Paul's humanity and passion. 'It shows how committed he still is to the company,' Isabelle continues. 'He still sits at the table with the Executive Board, but he is also often present in the workplace. He knows lots of colleagues by name and likes to chat with colleagues in different departments.'
Paul Thermote, together with Paul Vanhalst, founded TVH in 1969. 54 years later, the company is a global player in parts for material handling, industrial, construction and agricultural equipment. TVH has more than 5000 employees worldwide.
