TVH ranks 20th on the list of most attractive employers

26 May 2020

Every year, human resources specialist Randstad conducts a large-scale survey of the most attractive employers in Belgium. Newcomer in this year's top 20 is TVH – a world player in the field of parts for material handling and industrial vehicles, and the rental, repair and sales of those machines – which will be listed alongside names such as DEME, Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Colruyt Group and VRT. In the Randstad Employer Brand Research 2020, TVH scores remarkably well for the criteria work atmosphere and work-life balance.

First place for work atmosphere

The 12,000 respondents in the survey assigned a score to each company based on different criteria. When it comes to work atmosphere, TVH – mentioned in the report under the former name 'Thermote & Vanhalst' – comes first. For the work-life balance criterion, the company came second. Further on in the report, it is stated that these two factors are among the top 5 most important factors in choosing an employer.

"Perhaps more and more people are hearing about our work atmosphere and good work-life balance thanks to initiatives such as TVH Nudge and We Are One", says Isabelle Van de Voorde, Corporate Marketing & Communication Manager at TVH.

TVH Nudge and We Are One

Through TVH Nudge, TVH gives employees a healthy boost. Isabelle Van de Voorde: "We try to arrange the working environment in such a way that it encourages you to choose the healthy option. That way we keep our people healthier, more motivated and happier." For example, sports lessons, nutritious lunches, weekly fruit, breaks with a massage chair, relaxation areas, free fitness tests, a private green area for exercise and breaks ..."

Under the slogan 'We Are One', the company bundles its core values and creates togetherness among the large, varied group of employees. "There are also initiatives in this context, such as welcoming new employees with the We Are One Cup (a game that introduces the values to them) or fun online challenges in corona times," explains Isabelle Van de Voorde.

Vacancies, also during corona

The number of vacancies on the labour market is in free fall due to the corona crisis. But not at TVH, which continues to recruit people. "Even TVH clearly feels the impact of the crisis, but continues to look ahead and think long-term. Some vacancies are currently on hold, but many remain open. Recruitment has certainly not stopped", says Isabelle Van de Voorde.

About the Randstad Employer Brand Research

After 20 years, the Randstad Employer Brand Research has become a fixed value on the labour market. The survey focuses on the employer image of all large private companies in Belgium (with more than 1000 employees). This year, there were 183 companies. Before the corona crisis, during December 2019 and January 2020, Randstad collected the opinions of some 12,000 respondents, a reflection of the population aged between 18 and 65, via an online questionnaire.
