Outriggerpads (TVH) wins prestigious IAPA Award
At the 2021 international IPAF Summit, which was held virtually on 18 March, Outriggerpads – a brand of parts specialist TVH – was granted the IAPA Award for Contribution to Safe Working at Height. The IAPAs are considered the most prestigious awards in the powered access industry and recognise best practices and excellence.
Outriggerpads was awarded for its free, online outrigger pad calculator desktop application (app), which helps powered access platform and crane users accurately choose the right-sized spreader plates. It accounts for factors such as the maximum allowable ground pressure and the load per outrigger. The complete Outriggerpads product portfolio is available to UK and Ireland customers, and partially to other specific markets.
Meeting customers’ needs
“I developed the outrigger pad calculator based on feedback from customers”, explains Charles Grizzle, Business Development Manager at Outriggerpads. “They indicated that there was little to no advice available to them on the correct size of spreader plates for their specific equipment. And suitable spreader plates are crucial to machine stability and thus to the safety of machine users. We came up with a free-to-use, online tool that provides quick and accurate information.”
