On June 28, 2019, nine employees from our Grayslake, IL facility used their volunteer time off at the Boys & Girls Club of Lake County to help with Splash Day. Through the TVHCares program, TVH offers each full time employee eight paid hours of volunteer time off. Employees have the option to use their volunteer time off in one hour increments or all at once. "It is nice that TVH offers us volunteer time. This gives us the opportunity to reach out to our community as well as interact with our colleagues in a fun way. Once you arrive at the Boys & Girls Club, you can tell the kids are really excited for the day ahead. I'm glad to have participated in my second Splash Day and I am looking forward to the next one," commented Sithfredo Rivera, Product Development Specialist.
During their time at the Club, the first part of the day was spent indoors doing various activities. After lunch, once the rain moved out, they were able to get Splash Day underway. The Splash Day is one of the most looked forward to events we do with Boys & Girls Club. The kids and volunteers had a fun time throwing water balloons at each other and participating in other fun water themed activities. A good time was had by all!
