Talk about making a real impact! The May blood drive in Olathe resulted in collecting 49 units of blood, which could positively affect up to 147 lives. We had many repeat donors participate along with our 10 new first time donors – what an awesome way to give back. With a bigger group of volunteers and a few Power Red donors, we were able to up our donation since our last blood drive in January by 17 units!
We are proud of our donations so far this year, 81 units of blood, and have one more blood drive left this fall. The goal is to donate more this year than we did in 2021 – only 46 units left to go! With the encouragement from our on-site health coach, Coach Lucy, donations from caring employees and support from American Red Cross, our goal is not out of reach.
As we look forward to the rest of the year, we are excited to continue making a direct impact on our community. Whether you are type A, B, AB or O, there is never a bad time of the year to donate blood! All blood types are needed because we never know what a person in need will require. Be sure to research blood drives in your area so you can give back too.
