Ever since the acquisition of HCA (Hydraulic Couplings & Accessories) in August 2017, hydraulics has become a substantial part of our business in South Africa. After drilling company Bohrmeister decided to fully equip its drill rigs with hydraulic products from TVH, it was about time we have a chat with frontliner Johannes Pretorius (External Sales Advisor Hydraulics).
It was in 2007 that Bohrmeister, a drilling company founded by German engineer Heinz Von Fintel, expressed its needs for a permanent stock location in Durban to HCA CEO Paul Kindt. And so, in addition to the Johannesburg branch, a second HCA branch was created in Durban. When TVH Parts South Africa acquired the full HCA company and its assets in August 2017, we became a true one-stop shop for Bohrmeister: not only does our range offer all the parts and accessories they could possibly need, we now also offer all hydraulic products to build and maintain drill rigs.
A month ago, we received the great news from our colleague Johannes Pretorius, who channels the sales and projects with Bohrmeister, that the latter has launched a new generation RC grade control drill rig that works under extreme drilling conditions. The drill rig has been fully equipped with hydraulic hoses and fittings from our TVH range and all products have been cut and crimped by the TVH staff. The drill rig will be commissioned in Zambia. Bohrmeister has an order book for a further 6 rigs for 2018.
