Kom op tegen kanker (Fight Cancer)

The ball started rolling in 2011 when a couple of sporty colleagues decided to join a bicycle marathon of 1000 km for the benefit of 'Kom op tegen kanker' (Fight cancer). To raise the entry fee, numerous fund raising actions were organized by all TVH co-workers. These actions turned out to be a huge success. Among the actions: a dessert buffet, belly dance introduction lesson, sausage lunch, car wash, breakfast, sponsored bicycle trips and a cookie sale.

During the bicycle marathon 7 colleagues each cycled 125 km, one of them even cycled 250 km. Everyone made it to the finish without accidents or problems.

Swimming pool lift for disabled people

Together with the sheltered workshop 'De Waak', TVH organized several actions in 2012 to raise money for a swimming pool lift for disabled people in 'De Branding'. 'De Branding' is a sheltered home for the disabled, that also organizes daily activities. The home is completely adapted to the needs of the residents. A swimming pool lift should make the day-to-day care easier.

Make-a-Wish®

In 2012 TVH decided to only send digital christmas cards to its customers. The money that was saved was donated to the Make-a-Wish® foundation, which realizes dreams for terminally ill children. This decision eventually enabled us to donate 1500 euro.

Ambassador of the sheltered workshops

In 2013 TVH was elected ambassador of the sheltered workshops. This event was the first step in our commitment to actively promote the organizations for the employment of people with a work disability. We set up an annual programme in order to stimulate other companies to also establish a collaboration with a sheltered workshop.
