Why remanufactured parts are a perfect fit for construction equipment

13 June 2023
There are many reasons why a new part may not be the ideal choice for a machine. In this case, a remanufactured part may be the way forward.

When construction equipment – such as small earth-movers, mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) or telehandlers – breaks down, it’s important to get the necessary replacement part in a timely manner. But sometimes a new part isn’t exactly what you’re looking for. Maybe the construction equipment is quite old and it’s unclear how much benefit a new part will bring. Or perhaps the required part is no longer available new. Whatever the reason, TVH can help with our extensive range of remanufactured parts. Discover why buying from this range is a good idea.

First and foremost, remanufactured parts are beneficial to the construction equipment in which they are installed because they are of guaranteed high quality. Whether it’s a joystick for a small earth-mover, a printed circuit board for a MEWP or a radiator for a telehandler, all remanufactured parts are diligently repaired and reconditioned by our qualified technicians. Next to remanufacturing, the technicians also test all parts according to strict standards with our in-house developed test benches. Thanks to these test benches, faults or defects can be accurately detected, meaning that each remanufactured part that has been tested is always of high quality.

Another measure to ensure the quality of remanufactured parts is by having our technicians specialise in a selection of specific brands, about which they have optimal knowledge. Through that thorough way of working, we have secured collaborations with some of the biggest brands in the industry, including Curtis, Sevcon, SME, Danfoss, Rexroth, KYB, Freudenberg, Carraro, M+S Hydraulic, etc.

Secondly, remanufactured parts are available at an attractive price and with great benefits. They come with the same warranty as new parts, but you can save up to 50% on your purchase. Additionally, there are two different ways to buy them:

  1. Buy a remanufactured part: when you purchase a remanufactured part, you usually have to return your core. In this way of working, TVH uses a deposit system. As soon as we receive the core, with normal wear and tear, the deposit is refunded.

  2. Have your part repaired: if a remanufactured part isn’t available, then our in-house technicians may be able to get your malfunctioning or broken part back in working order. If deemed repairable, the part will be repaired and reconditioned with the same care that is maintained for our remanufactured parts. The part will also be issued with the same one-year warranty.

Finally, our range of remanufactured parts also reflects the value that TVH places on sustainability and environmental friendliness. We are firm believers in the circular economy and the Cradle to Cradle concept. By remanufacturing parts, we avoid waste and limit the amount of raw material that still has to be used to produce even more parts. If we find that a part cannot be remanufactured, then we recycle it in the correct way so that its resources can be reused.

Because of this belief, our range of remanufactured parts is very broad. We offer, for instance, remanufactured gearboxes, battery chargers, steering units and orbitrols, hydraulic control valves, automatic transmissions, electric motors, displays, contactors, accelerators, steering axles, etc. You can check out our full offering of remanufactured parts here.
