About LAPP
Founded in 1959 by Oskar and Ursula Ida Lapp, LAPP was born from a simple yet revolutionary idea: to create the world's first industrially manufactured, flexible, and oil-resistant control cable. This innovative spirit, driven by a desire to improve upon the laborious process of manual cable insertion, has been the cornerstone of the company's philosophy for over six decades. From its humble beginnings in the Lapp family home in Stuttgart, Germany, the company has grown into a global leader in connection technology, guided by the values of quality, precision, and a deep understanding of customer needs.
Oskar Lapp's vision was to create a branded product that would stand for reliability and performance, a vision realized in the iconic ÖLFLEX® control cables. Today, LAPP's product portfolio has expanded to include a comprehensive range of cables, connectors, cable glands, and integrated connection solutions under eight distinct brands. These products are essential to a wide array of industries, including mechanical and systems engineering, the automotive industry, food and beverage, robotics, and renewable energy, providing reliable connectivity for everything from production machinery to electric vehicle charging systems.
From its roots in Germany, LAPP has grown into a truly global company. With 21 production sites, approximately 100 national partners, and 41 of its own sales companies, LAPP has a significant international presence, serving customers in every corner of the world. This extensive global network, now guided by the third generation of the Lapp family, ensures that the company's commitment to innovation and "Made in Germany" quality continues to connect the world.
