Waregem – Global parts specialist TVH has been awarded the EcoVadis Bronze Medal. This marks a new milestone for TVH and confirms its ongoing commitment to sustainability, after improving its score for a third year in a row.
EcoVadis is the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. The organisation rates all member companies in multiple areas, including Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.
With an average score of 64%, EcoVadis benchmarked TVH among the top 29% of companies worldwide. “That’s just the general score”, says Daniel Rossi, Director of Sustainability at TVH. “When we look at our score within our specific sector (Wholesale of
other machinery and equipment), we are in the top 22%, meaning we improve our sustainability a lot faster than our competitors.”
“What makes me proudest is the fact that we have made a clear progression these last few years. We’ve improved our score for a third year in a row. In 2023, we achieved a score of 53%. Now, just two years later, we have improved by 9%, which is a significant achievement”, Daniel Rossi adds.
“Moreover, we are improving on all four areas of assessment. I believe this is a result of sustainability being a significant part of our strategy plan Forward28. At TVH, sustainability is everyone’s business.”
It’s also worth noting that TVH’s actions to promote environmental services and advocacy to its customers have been noted.“Our long-standing business model is inherently designed to provide such services. Thanks to our core products and services, we were already meeting this emerging standard, reflecting a deep integration of circularity and efficiency. Our Remanufacturing department gives new life to critical equipment parts, while TVH’s Gemone telematics platform provides customers with smart data to manage compliance and improve their own sustainability goals.”
Nevertheless, TVH remains cautious. “The term ‘greenwashing’ is thrown around too easily”, Daniel Rossi explains. “But I want to stress our goal: we do not claim to have the most sustainable products. Instead, our products are helping our clients achieve their sustainability goals. And that’s worth more in the long run.”
Jasper Bruyneel, Chief Strategy & Sustainability Officer, concludes: “While this Bronze Medal is a great reward for our continuous efforts, we want to aim even higher. We already know which fields we can further improve in, so our journey towards sustainability has only begun.”
