Save batteries with the Energic Plus battery regenerator

16 January 2026

Once lead-acid batteries show a loss of capacity due to sulfation, many people still make the mistake of immediately discarding them. However, this isn’t necessary in most cases, because the batteries can still be saved using the appropriate equipment, such as a battery regenerator. Read on to find out how the battery regenerator from our brand Energic Plus restores the capacity of lead-acid batteries and gives them a second lease of life.

The cause of battery degeneration

The cause of battery degeneration

One of the primary reasons for the degeneration of lead-acid batteries is sulfation: the accumulation of hard lead sulfate crystals that a standard charger cannot dissolve. These crystals attach to the lead plates and act as an insulating layer. Consequently, fewer lead plates come into contact with the battery acid, resulting in less electrical energy being converted into chemical energy. This means that the battery unit will need to be charged more frequently, which ultimately leads to ageing and a reduction in the battery’s capacity, efficiency and overall lifespan.

The solution: the Energic Plus battery regenerator

The solution: the Energic Plus battery regenerator

When a lead-acid battery appears to have reached the end of its usable life due to sulfation, many people opt to simply replace it with a new one. However, this is expensive and far from environmentally friendly. It’s also not always the most sensible choice, since the battery may still have some life left in it. In fact, more than 80% of lead-acid batteries experiencing capacity loss due to sulfation can be restored to their original capacity through effective analysis and the use of the appropriate equipment.

That appropriate equipment includes the Energic Plus battery regenerator, which can convert lead sulfate crystals back into active material. This restores the battery's capacity to its original level, effectively giving it a second lease of life.

How does the battery regenerator work?

The battery regeneration process takes a maximum of 42 hours and comprises six steps. It begins with a controlled discharge of the battery, during which the voltage of each cell is monitored through the Battery Monitoring System (BMS). This enables the system to assess the current state and the remaining capacity of each cell. Next comes the charging and equalisation process, during which the weaker and sulfated cells are restored. These three steps are then repeated.

In addition to discharging and recharging the battery, high-frequency pulses (150 pulses per second at 150 Hz) are continuously sent through the battery throughout the entire regeneration process. These pulses have been specially developed to convert the sulfate crystals back into active material.

One device for various applications

One device for various applications

The Energic Plus battery regenerator is compatible with different voltages and capacities, as well as with battery monitoring systems (BMS) for the wireless detection of faulty cells. It enables data to be transferred either wirelessly or via cable, and the device can be used as either a discharger or a regenerator.

In addition, the battery regenerator comes with free diagnostic software that enables users to accurately analyse their batteries, establish their condition before and after regeneration, and determine whether they need replacing. These findings can then be quickly and easily converted into user-friendly reports.

On-site training is provided upon installation of all Energic Plus products, including the battery regenerator. During this training, Energic Plus experts explain the basic principles of lead-acid batteries and the entire regeneration process in detail. These experts also guarantee excellent after-sales service and continue to follow up with customers to ensure they are utilising their products to their full potential.

Batteries that last 50% longer

Much as we would like it to be, the Energic Plus battery regenerator isn’t a miracle cure and won’t eliminate the need for purchasing new batteries. It’s not possible to restore batteries with an internal mechanical defect or corroding lead paste. In such cases, replacement batteries will need to be sought out. However, the battery regenerator can restore at least 80% of lead-acid batteries, and as a direct result, they will last 50% longer.
