About Beta
Beta has been developing and manufacturing professional hand tools for over 100 years. The company was founded in 1923 when Alessandro Ciceri started the forging plant ‘Alessandro Ciceri & Figli’, specialising in iron and steel moulds in northern Italy. In 1939, the company underwent two significant changes: the founder changed the name to Beta, and the company moved to Sovico near Milan, where it still resides. In the meantime, the second generation came to the forefront with Alessandro’s son, Damiano Ciceri.
The following years and decades were marked by further success and expansion. Beta started exporting its hand tools to international markets in 1960, and by 1973, it opened a second production plant. In 1980, Beta opened a third production plant in central Italy. Meanwhile, the company strengthened its international presence by opening several branches abroad, including in France, the UK, Spain and Poland.
In 1990, Beta welcomed the fourth generation of the Ciceri family. Meanwhile, the company expanded its international presence with offices in China (2009) and Brazil (2012). The first USA branch opened its doors in 2020 and in 2023 Beta celebrated its 100th anniversary.
Beta has always focused on performance and excellence under pressure. It’s no wonder that the company has been actively involved in motorsports, with partnerships in Formula 1, MotoGP and WRC for more than 50 years.
