PUG (Progress User Group) Challenge event

10 November 2015

The PUG (Progress User Group) Challenge event was held in Copenhagen, Denmark from 4 - 6 November 2015. Events like these are important to us. So, as always, a delegation of our IT department was present. This year we did more than just attend! Our colleague Jan Keirse, Specialist Software Developer from the R&D department, gave a presentation on OESNMP.

Jan created OESNMP as an essential tool for TVH, and we decided to release it as a free open-source solution so it can benefit the entire OpenEdge community.

For those wondering what OESNMP does: OESNMP is a set of tools to expose information about OpenEdge appservers, databases and related infrastructure to monitor systems supporting SNMP. This allows you to detect unusual behaviour, verify whether performance tuning yields the desired results, warn you before problems lead to downtime, and so on. You can use it with enterprise monitoring solutions and take advantage of all the features these provide.

Great tool, Jan!
