TVH HANDS OUT 150 PASTRIES TO HIGHLIGHT ROAD SAFETY RISKS

08 September 2026

Safety comes first at TVH. The parts specialist in Waregem underlined making safety a top priority by getting into action once again. On Thursday, September 3, TVH raised awareness on the importance of road safety by reminding cyclists about the dangers of blind spots around heavy-duty vehicles: Cyclists were welcomed with a fresh pastry to help them start their day safely and on a positive note.

During every start of the new school year, TVH puts road safety high on the agenda. Young people are not always aware of the risks of cycling near trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles. That is why cyclists passing along Vichtseweg received not only a fresh pastry, but also an informative leaflet with practical advice on how to navigate the busy industrial area safely.

In addition to this initiative, TVH is improving road safety in Waregem through infrastructure changes. The employee entrance along Vichtseweg was permanently closed on September 1 to make the busy two-way cycle path safer for daily cyclists. The new entrance and exit are now located on Plasstraat.

Frederik Hanssens, Safety, Health & Environment Manager at TVH explains: “Through these initiatives, we want to raise awareness and help prevent accidents. By combining infrastructure improvements with accessible information for students, we hope to make everyone more aware of the risks. Safety is an absolute priority for TVH, both within the company and on public roads.”
