For sweepers and scrubbers to effectively clean and collect debris, they must be equipped with the right squeegee, broom and/or brush. A sweeper that is designed to pick up littered remains typically has one main cylindrical broom and two side brooms. The side brooms sweep debris under the machine for the main broom to pick up. The longer bristles flick up the unwanted fragments into the hopper. There are a wide variety of fill materials that can be used for brooms including:
•    Union Fiber
•    Crimped Wire
•    Nylon
•    Polyester
A scrubber is designed to clean and polish a floor with one, two or three rotary brushes or two cylindrical brushes. Brushes for these machines typically have shorter bristles so they can effectively clean when used with cleaning solutions. After a scrubber passes through an area with the brush, a vacuum picks up any residing solution and a squeegee dries the floor. Popular brush fill materials include:
•    Grit
•    Crimped Wire
•    Nylon
•    Polyester
When purchasing a broom or brush be sure to analyze and consider the environment in which they will be used. Is the machine being used inside or outside? Are the floors sealed or unsealed? What type of debris is getting picked up normally? TVH is here to help answer these questions and find the best broom or brush fill, size and pattern for your needs.
