TVH Olathe’s Softball Team is starting strong

09 August 2016

TVH began their 2016 softball season with a win! Their first double header was played on June 22 where they won their first game 15-14. With their 1st win under their belt they really got into the groove the second game with an 18-8 victory. They are looking to improve upon their 6 – 2 record with 14 games left to go in the season.

“I joined the softball team because it's a fun way to hang out with co-workers and develop relationships.” Tracy Allman, Photographer, who plays in the outfield. The co-ed team is made up of several different departments from the Olathe Headquarters; Materials, Warehouse, TDD, Human Resources, Accounting, Quality, ITS, and Marketing/Advertising. Some of them are veteran players and others are rookies, but watching them out on the field you can see how they use each other’s strengths to their advantage and it works!

James Hoffman, TDD, plays first base, “I have played off and on since high school. I play because I like the team work and a little bit of exercise along with it.”

If you want to go cheer them on, they play double headers on Wednesday nights throughout the summer. The team plays at Heritage Park Sports Complex in a league of 8 other teams. You can check out their schedule for exact times here. We hope they can keep it up and bring home the gold this year!
