On June 14, 2016, TVH Americas and forklift manufacturers from around the United States will be celebrating National Forklift Safety Day. Sponsored by the Industrial Truck Association (ITA), National Forklift Safety Day highlights best practices in forklift safety.
“TVH is proud to be participating in National Forklift Safety Day,” said Els Thermote, CEO of TVH Americas. “Through internal product trainings to our staff and social media campaigns, we highlight the importance of operator training and safety. We encourage our customers to join us in practicing forklift safety by ensuring they have the necessary safety equipment and are aware of products that reduce forklift related accidents.”
The ITA launched National Forklift Safety Day as an opportunity to promote improved training and education through discussions surrounding forklift safety best practices. According to OSHA, 70% of forklift accidents can be prevented through proper training and policy. While federal safety standards and regulations are in place to reduce the percentage of forklift accidents, National Forklift Safety Day helps to increase commitment to following these standards.
