Packaging Material

We carefully select a box that perfectly fits the glass, ensuring a snug fit without unnecessary extra space. This meticulous packaging approach guarantees that the glass is well-protected and the container seals securely, so it arrives safely.

Dunnage Machine

This converter separates 2-ply Ranpak kraft paper, allowing air to be trapped between the layers. Inside the converter, the paper is formed into a protective and shock absorbing packaging material through a folding and compression process. The pad is then fed through the automatic cut mechanism that allows the user to simply take the pad from the machine at pre-set lengths. The paper pads have tremendous shock absorbing capacity, offering optimal protection for medium to heavy cushioning applications.

Within the box packaging there should be two corner supports and one dunnage along the bottom, this helps cushion the glass for transport.
 

Once the glass is in the box, dunnage will be placed on both sides of the glass. Before the box is sealed two more corner pieces are added as well as dunnage along the top.
 

*Note: Not all glass is straight, the inserts are not required for curved glass.
 

Fragile Labels- Each package of glass will have a “fragile” sticker on all four sides, this is to ensure that the carrier is handling with care.

Then you will place the glass in the box and proceed with filling the box with dunnage. Place the dunnage on both side of the glass when packaging the glass and in between the top and bottom inserts.
 

After putting the glass in the box, we add protective padding on both sides and between the top and bottom. Once the box is filled with padding, insert two additional supports at the top, making sure to add padding between them before closing the box. Ensuring that the tape runs in the same direction on both ends for a secure seal.

Note: For putting dunnage on the sides of the box, fold the dunnage and insert it between the box /glass, this gives the packaging extra support.

You'll find a 'fragile label' on each side (front, back, right, and left) of the box. This label highlights that the item inside is delicate, ensuring that the carrier handles it with extra care during transportation. Once the packaging process is complete the team will place the finished product in the staging area.
