Each year, Trends and Kanaal Z award the title Manager of the Year to an inspiring manager. This 39th edition is a special one for TVH, as our very own CEO, Dominiek Valcke, made it to the shortlist of nominees to become the successor of Rika Coppens. The select club of three contenders was announced on 9 November, which was also the starting signal for the online voting process. Surely, you’re voting too?
The three nominees come from a list of 20 candidates and, according to the judges, already meet a long list of quantitative criteria, such as profitability, solvency, growth, etc. The jury also evaluated them on their professional and personal competencies. These include communicative and analytical skills, result-drivenness and an eye for sustainability.
Trends also took a closer look at Dominiek’s career. Under his leadership, TVH took significant steps in internationalisation and attracted D’Ieteren Group as an external investor. 2022 also saw the inauguration of the new state-of-the-art HQ in Waregem. Trends interviewed Dominiek following his nomination: “I’m actually more of an entrepreneur with a manager’s angle. When building something, you can’t do it on your own. You’re doing it with a team. You have to deploy the right people in the right places.”
