TVH again receives sustainability label

23 June 2021

Parts specialist TVH has again obtained the VOKA Charter Duurzaam Ondernemen (Charter for Corporate Sustainability). This marks the twelfth year in a row that the global player in the field of parts and accessories for lift trucks, industrial vehicles, construction and agricultural machinery is recognised for its sustainability efforts. At the end of last year, the company was awarded the related international UNITAR certificate as well.

National recognition: VOKA Charter

And so TVH once again received the VOKA Charter Duurzaam Ondernemen. This is based on the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations. "For each of those 17 goals, one or more actions were developed, and we continue to expand or adjust", Frederik Hanssens explains.

During the presentation of the charter, TVH was praised for its transparent communication and initiatives in the context of the coronavirus, such as coronakits including face masks and hand gel for each employee, food boxes and remote solidarity actions. Also, the development of the Waterhoevebos (Zwevegem) together with Natuurpunt, the extra flexibility for a better work-life balance and the accessible learning opportunities offered by the company were mentioned. The jury report didn't contain any bottlenecks or non-conformities.

From SDG Pioneer to SDG Champion

At the end of 2020, TVH was also one of the first companies in Belgium to receive the international UNITAR certificate, issued by the United Nations. This earned the company the title of SDG Pioneer, with SDG referring to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Frederik Hanssens: "This recognition is valid for three years. After that, we are aiming for the title of SDG Champion, for which we will take our efforts to an even higher level. This means, among other things, that we focus on quantifiable results and that sustainability becomes central to all business decisions. We want our green mindset to be visible everywhere."
